Conducting a Management Project
The ability to manage projects is a vital skill for all managers. This unit focuses on the knowledge and skills required to manage projects successfully and overcome problems and challenges. It requires the learner to evaluate the methods and tools for planning tasks and activities, as well as knowing how to implement and manage project activities, build stakeholder relationships, manage resources and risk, monitor progress and report on outcomes.
You will:
Understand the role of projects in delivering organisational strategy
Understand processes for initiating, planning and managing projects
Understand the factors which contribute to effective project management
Research into approaches to management and leadership can lead to dynamic results. Innovation, product development, performance improvement, change, customer service excellence, strategy and problem solving are just some of the results. Without research business can stagnate. The aim of the unit is for the learner to conduct management research which will have an impact on individual and/or organisational practice. It is expected that learners will plan and manage a genuine project in the workplace or an academic enquiry relevant to an identified business need or challenge.

Know how to plan a management project
Be able to conduct a management project.

The programme delivery is via Live Online, which includes live, interactive webinar sessions delivered by our industry expert tutor. All sessions are also recorded to enable you to access them on demand. Additionally, learners are given access to a suite of project management resources to help you on your path to success.
On the programme you will be part of a mixed cohort with learners from a variety of sectors. This enables you to share knowledge, experiences and learn how projects are managed in other sectors.

MOL’s dedicated Customer Experience Team will be in contact prior to the start of the programme to outline how the programme will run and to deal with any queries or concerns you may have at the outset. When your studies commence, they will also proactively contact you to make sure that you are OK, that the course is going well and to gather feedback on your experience of studying with MOL.
Whilst studying the Level 5 Certificate, you will attend regular, live webinar sessions offering the opportunity to interact with your tutor and peers. The sessions are designed to be vibrant and engaging and will include elements such as group and paired work, discussion topics, Q&As and interactive polls whilst looking at areas of the CMI syllabus.
MOL’s expert tutors are also available to support you whenever you need them. The tutors do not just provide information and advice within the live online, interactive sessions; they are on hand when you need them to provide dedicated support and feedback to guide you in your learning.

The programme is designed for learners looking to expand their experience and knowledge in managing a wide range of projects as well understanding of various project management styles. As the qualification guides learners through the end-to-end process of managing a project from initial planning to implementation stage, there are no entry requirements for enrolment.
Therefore, for school business professionals who do not have a project management qualification and who are already managing projects in your school or trust, the Level 5 CMI certificate is an ideal next step.

The programme is assessed via written assessments. There are no exams.

If you’ve completed a CMI L5 Diploma (including Management and Leadership) or CMI qualification which includes the L5 Managing Projects to Achieve Results unit, you may be eligible for an exemption on the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Project Management.
